Marjorie Maddy Croop

Croop, Marjorie Maddy. Age 97. Devoted wife of 61 years to the late Raymond Sigurd Croop. Loving mother to Tracy Croop, Leslie (Dave) Kohler, and Dr. David (Linda) Croop. Proud grandmother to Jeremy Kohler, Rachel Kohler, Justin (Kelly) Croop, and Jordan (Hannah) Croop. Great grandmother to Addison Croop. She was the loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Daughter of the late John Churchill Maddy and Marguerite Hufford Maddy, sister to the late Glenn (Evelyn) Maddy and the late Robert (Annette) Maddy.

Marjorie was the valedictorian of her class at Perrysburg High School and later attended Bowling Green State University before transferring to and graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Psychology. She was active in Delta Gamma Sorority for many years and enjoyed bridge club with her friends.

After graduation Marjorie was employed by Proctor and Gamble where she worked in market research and ultimately met Raymond. Several years later they were married and started a family. She then focused on raising three children that were a total of two and a half years apart. Marjorie and Ray spent many of their retirement years traveling and visiting friends and helping care for their four grandchildren. Ray passed away in 2015 and Marjorie moved into Twin Lakes Retirement Community in Cincinnati where many of her neighborhood friends were living.

Marjorie requested a small service for immediate family and wished that in lieu of flowers, friends and family would contribute to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Suncrest Hospice.
