Marjory D. Florko, born near Boston on June 28, 1935, and a resident of Cincinnati for over six decades, died peacefully at home on August 22, 2025, surrounded by loving family and feline companions.
Marjory served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, where she met Army helicopter pilot Theodore W. Florko. They married in 1959 and had five children: Alicia Suenaga (Kansas City, MO), Eileen Eldrich, Greg Florko, John Florko, and Chris Florko (Tucson, AZ).
After several years as a real estate agent, Marjory worked at the University of Cincinnati, where she was respected for her professionalism and dedication, until retiring in 2001.
Marjory’s greatest joy was her four grandchildren: Steven Stockton, Tomomi Suenaga Summers, Emi Suenaga, and Seiji Suenaga. Tomomi and husband Ben are the parents of Marjory’s two great-grandchildren, Yuji and Miko.
Marjory is survived by her beloved sister, Elizabeth D. Power and brother-in-law Daniel Power (Boston, MA).
Visitation will be at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington, on Thursday, August 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Friday, August 29 at 10:00 a.m.
Personal note from Marjory’s adult children: Mom was of Irish descent and was adamant about wanting an “Irish Wake,” which is essentially a party. She said many times that she doesn’t want anyone to be sad and somber when they say goodbye to her; she wants people to joke, laugh, sing, dance, eat, drink, and have a good time. The Celebration of Life at Woodland Mound will be exactly that—a celebration. So dress comfortably and be prepared to honor her by having fun. That is what she wants! ☘️
