Mary Constance Cookie (Hutzel) Kelly, passed away on September 26, 2023, in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 76. Born on April 9, 1947, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a compassionate and giving woman who spent much of her time helping and giving to others.
Cookie grew up in Hyde Park. She was very much a tomboy at heart. She loved riding the family bicycle, playing with her dog Gigi, and hanging out with her many brothers, her sister and her neighborhood friends. Many of her life-long friends came from her childhood.
Cookie's loving and generous nature was evident in her personal relationships. She is especially known as being the super-fun Aunt Cookie. She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 57 wonderful years, L. Michael Kelly, loving daughters Mary (Jamie) Ball, Connie (Doug) Heidenreich, Phyllis Kelly, and her fond sister Judy Caster. She is Grammy to her nine adoring grandchildren Emma and Elena Ball, Vivica and Riley Heidenreich, Kyle and Tristan Kelly, and Olivia, Liam and Zach Loveless. Cookie also leaves behind many wonderful nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, as well as countless cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Patrick Kelly, her parents Thomas and Phyllis Hutzel, and her brothers Tommy, Philip, David, Michael and Danny.
Cookie's education began at St. Mary's School in Hyde Park and continued at Marian High School where she graduated in 1965. She was a remarkable artist and loved to make beautiful creations with her hands. She took immense joy in making smocked dresses, ornaments, and embroidered pillows for her grandchildren. She also made countless cross-stitching creations for family and close friends.
Please join Cookie's family for a visitation which will be held in her honor on Monday, October 2 from 11am-12pm, at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Ave., Mt. Washington. Funeral service will start at 12pm. A burial service will be held at Mt. Moriah Cemetery at 686 Mt. Moriah Dr. in Cincinnati, OH 45245 immediately after the funeral service. A celebration event will be held immediately after the burial. More details on the celebration event will be shared at the visitation and funeral service.
Cookie will be remembered as a very loving and compassionate Wife, Mama, and Grammy. She touched many of the lives of those around her. Her selflessness, kindness, and fun spirit will forever be cherished by her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
