Mary Laverne Hahn Fehring

Our Dear Mother Mary passed peacefully into the spiritual world in the pre-dawn hour of the morning on January 10, 2026, at age 94. She is survived by her sister, SR. Helen Julia Hahn, SC, her Sister-in-Law Joy Hahn, seven loving children, Anne Fehring Koch (Chuck), Mary Beth Fehring (the late Brain Mancz), James Fehring (Audry), Matthew Fehring (Tracy), Peter Fehring (Pamela), Elaine Fehring, and Christopher Fehring (Anissa).

Grandmary to her grandchildren Krista, James, Amie, Andrew, Greg, Emma, Cullen and Chloe, and Great Grandmary to their collective nine children, Mother was preceded in death by her eighth child Laura Fehring, parents William and Julia Hahn, her six brothers, and our father, James M. Fehring.

Considering her progeny the greatest accomplishment of her life and raison d'être, Mother Mary was at various times during her life a certified dental assistant, a leader of the Cincinnati La Leche League, a pioneer in promoting natural, husband coached childbirth, a gardener with Green Grubbers Garden Club, an activist for preserving Anderson Township green space, and an active volunteer with the California Woods Nature Center.

Dedicated to her Catholic faith, Mother took great joy gathering all of us for birthdays, Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday at her beloved home of 60 years on Eversole Road.

She was the heart of our Family and we already miss her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 15 at 10:30AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 7820 Beechmont Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45255. Friends may visit the church from 9:30-10:30AM on Thursday. Burial at Guardian Angels Cemetery.
