Michelle L. Anello (nee Meeks) age 58 of St. Bernard, passed away October 9, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Vince Anello, devoted mother of Maci (Johnny) Davidson, Nicholas Anello, and Kari (Alex) Anello, cherished grandmother of Maeven and Jordan Davidson, loving daughter of the late Marlene and Gene Horn and Donald Meeks, dear sister of Donnie Meeks, Lisa (Mike) Hamer and the late Vance Meeks, and adored dog-mom of Gia. She is also survived by many other loving family members and friends.
A tribute to Michelle by her daughter, Maci.
Michelle was the sassiest, strongest, most loving woman I have ever known. Her sass was fierce, but her love was even fiercer. She was the backbone of our family, the one who kept everyone in line while making sure we never questioned how deeply we were loved. She taught me to stand tall, speak my mind, stand up for others, and, most importantly, "not take shit" from anyone. She was unapologetically herself.
One of the greatest gifts Michelle gave us was showing us what true love looks like. My parents shared 34 beautiful years of marriage, building a life and a love that most people only dream of. They were inseparable, doing everything together and standing beside each other through every high and low. My dad loved and cared for my mom every single day, and she loved him just as fiercely. Even in her final moments, he was right where he had always been-by her side, rubbing her back and holding her hand. Their love was extraordinary, and because of them, we grew up knowing what real, unconditional love should look like.
Michelle was a fighter in every sense of the word. She faced blood clots, respiratory struggles, and cancer with a strength that never ceased to amaze me. And if you knew her, you knew one thing for certain-SHE WAS A CANCER SURVIVOR, and she made sure EVERYONE knew it! She wore that title with pride, and rightfully so. Life threw so much her way, but she never let it take away her fire.
Of all the roles Michelle held in her life, I truly believe one of her greatest joys was being Mamaw to Maeve and Jordan. She never hesitated to show up, especially when we needed her most. There were countless FaceTime calls every single day because she couldn't go too long without seeing or talking to her grandbabies. She showed up for the little moments and the big ones. She was the person we could always count on. Her grandbabies were her world, and she made sure they knew it. In the words of Maeven Michelle (3 years old), "Mamaw my best friend. I WUV you mamaw!"
But I know her love doesn't end here.
It lives in the family she built, the lessons she taught, the strength she passed down, and the two little grandbabies who will grow up knowing just how fiercely their Mamaw loved them.
Michelle, you are our Queen, our fighter, our heart, and our home.
Forever a Wife. Forever Mamaw. Forever Mom. Forever our Queen.
