Miriam Brontstrup McDonald (Mimi), peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the age of 85. She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, by her parents, the late Ralph and Janet (nee Hussel) Bronstrup. Mimi attended Woodward High School then University of Cincinnati where she fell in love with John D. McDonald, and they have been married for 61 years. A wholly devoted mother and grandmother, she is also survived by her children, Ken (Sarah) McDonald and Pam (Brad) Williamson; grandchildren, Kristin (Michael) Paff, Brandon Williamson, Austin Williamson, and Elaina McDonald; beloved sister, Jeanne Conarroe (Lee); great-granddogs, Sabe, Charlie, Roscoe & Rosie and great-grandkitty Cleo; as well as her extended family and friends.
Mimi enjoyed flowers, gardening, nature, crafts, cooking, music, but most of all, traveling and spending time with her family. She could often be found traveling to National Parks and Europe and snowbirding in Destin, Florida to make countless family memories. She enjoyed Women's Club, water aerobics, In-Stitches church group, cross-stitch, but most of all watching Cincinnati sports, especially her beloved Bearcats. As a mother, she supported her children's interests and activities; girls scouts, boy scouts, band parent volunteer, and loved planning annual family vacations. As a very special Grandma, she was eager to spend much of her time helping with the grandchildren's care, attending and supporting them in their activities, and planning countless outings. Mimi and John and her beloved sister, Jeanne, and brother-in-law, Lee, enjoyed years of traveling, snowbirding, celebrations and dining out. We will deeply miss her loving and caring presence.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Miriam's honor may be made to any charity of donor's choice.
