Nancy L. Futrell

Born on September 18, 1948, in Willard, Nancy was the cherished daughter of the late Mary Alice (nee Cahill) and Robert Charles Cahill, M.D. She was one of six children and grew up surrounded by the love and laughter of her five brothers: Dallas, Jim, Joe, Tom, and Don. Nancy shared a close bond with her brothers, rooted in a childhood filled with warmth, humor, and connection.

Nancy was the beloved wife of Thomas Joseph Futrell, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Together, they created a home filled with kindness, compassion, and deep family values.

She was a devoted mother to her three children: Aaron Matthew Futrell, Tricia Renee Carter, and Amanda Jo Futrell Gilb. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother, and she leaves behind five treasured grandchildren: Daniel Robert Futrell, Conner Matthew Siekman, Kellie Danielle Futrell, Andora Matea Futrell, and Kendal Jo Gilb. Nancy delighted in every moment spent with her grandchildren, whether she was sewing them something special, reading stories, or simply offering a listening ear. Her love and wisdom live on in them.

Nancy spent her professional life as a dedicated teacher, shaping young minds with patience, creativity, and care. She had a gentle spirit in the classroom and a deep belief in the power of education.

Outside the classroom, Nancy was a gifted seamstress. Sewing was not just a hobby-it was her passion and her art. Her hands created countless quilts, garments, and keepsakes for those she loved. Every stitch reflected her thoughtfulness and care, and her talent brought warmth and comfort to many.

Nancy's legacy is one of quiet strength, enduring love, and service to others. She will be remembered for the many lives she touched-with her teaching, her handmade gifts, and her unwavering love for her family.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 14th, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Anderson Hills Church: 7515 Forest Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45255. All who knew and loved Nancy are welcome to attend and celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to causes Nancy cared deeply about: registering as an organ donor and supporting the National Kidney Foundation.

She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
