Nancy Jean Glennon, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, surrounded by family. Born in Morristown, New Jersey to Pearl and Richard Finlay, Nancy carried with her a lifelong love of family, learning and community. In 1961, she married John Glennon, despite accidentally standing him up on their first date. They enjoyed a partnership rooted in faith and deep love for nearly 65 years. Together, they raised six children: Kathleen Faske (Bob), Laura Glennon, Susan Sosa (Carlos), Mary Glennon (Keith Kennedy), Thomas (Lisa Sawma), and Marci Hunt (Jonathan).

Nothing brought Nancy greater joy than her family. Along with her children, she leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom was a source of pride and delight (even if she could never keep their names straight). Nancy believed deeply in the power of education and spent more than six decades devoted to literacy and early childhood learning, most notably as Director of two early childhood education centers, where she touched countless young lives.

Even in retirement, Nancy never slowed. She continued to give her time by volunteering at Mercy Hospital and serving as a receptionist at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She found joy in the simple pleasures: a good bridge game, singing in choir, teaching Canasta to her grandchildren (while changing the rules so she never lost), and participating in the senior programs at Margaret's Heart Day Center, the Episcopal Retirement Center, and the Giving Voice Foundation.

Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Giving Voice Foundation (https://givingvoicefdn.org), a local Cincinnati organization that supports those impacted by dementia. Giving Voice brought Nancy joy and a sense of belonging in her final years.

Nancy's smile and sparkly shoes will be remembered by all those she touched.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Thursday, April 9th at 10:30 a.m. where friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
