Nancy C. Witschger (nee Currens), age 90, passed away May 23, 2026 after a lengthy battle with dementia. She was born on August 3, 1935, the daughter of the late Alvin D. and Emma Wohrley Currens. She is survived by her daughters Betsy (Michael) Moore and Barri (Keith) VandeStadt, and her three beloved grandchildren, Kees and Aidan VandeStadt, and Charlotte Moore, her sister Wendy C. Shook, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her former husband Roger A. Witschger.

Nancy attended Withrow High School and the University of Cincinnati, where she was a proud member of Chi Omega sorority with her life-long friend Diane Katsanis.

She was an elementary teacher, a floral designer, and a librarian at various times during her working career. She was a long-time member of the Anderson Hills Junior Women's Club, and a docent at the Taft Museum of Art as well as the Nevada Museum of Art. In her later years she spent as much time as possible at her home in Southern Shores, NC, which was her pride and joy.

Nancy loved her role as grandma, affectionately known as "HooHoo," and rarely missed a swim meet, a baseball game, a vocal or orchestra concert or a soccer game.

Nancy was cared for with the utmost dignity and loving thoughtfulness by the staff at The Residences at Salem Woods, for which her family will be forever grateful.

At this time, no public service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Stray Animal Adoption Program, or The Residences at Salem Woods Activities Department.
