Richard "Rick" J. Benken

Richard "Rick" J. Benken, age 72 of Anderson Twp., passed away, July 3, 2026. He was the beloved husband of 50 years to Carla J. Benken (nee Kroeger), devoted father of William (Sheri) Benken, Lisa (J. Christopher) Osterbrink, Amanda (Robert) Crigler, and Megan Benken, loving grandfather of Victor, Alexander, and Danielle Benken, J. Samuel and Ethan Osterbrink, Jackson and Allyssa Crigler, Braden and Declan Lack, and the late Randall Benken and Allison and Avery Crigler, caring son of the late Edward H. and Evelyn Motz Benken, and dear brother of Edward H. Benken Jr., James Benken, Caroline Spahn, and the late Sr. Caroline Benken, Sr. Roseanne Benken, Jane Kaeser, Joyce Appelmann, and Mary Ann Mofford.

Rick was a dedicated employee of PerkinElmer for 35 years where he served as an Electronic Engineer and was a lifelong, active parishioner at St. John Fisher Church. He enjoyed boating, traveling, working on various projects, including his 1936 Ford which he was working to restore. Ultimately, Rick enjoyed helping people with whatever they needed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Fisher Church on Wednesday, July 15th at 11 a.m. where family and friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A private family inurnment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
