Robert "Bob" Carl Martina, age 91, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026.
Born on July 18, 1934, to Louis Martina and Dorothy Gillespie Martina, Bob lived a long and fulfilling life defined by faith, family, service, and hard work. He was preceded in death by his parents, whose love and values helped shape the man he became along his brothers Gene Martina, Joseph Martina and sister Helen Martina Cunningham.
In 1953, Bob proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served as an Aircraft Mechanic. He faithfully served his country until receiving an honorable discharge in 1956. Following his military service, Bob built a successful career with The Cincinnati Bell Company, where he proudly worked for 35 years as a Service Technician. Known for his strong work ethic, technical skill, and commitment to serving customers, he took great pride in his work and the relationships he built throughout his career. Bob retired in 1991, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and professionalism that reflected the values he carried throughout his life.
Bob was formerly married to Elaine Pfoutz-St. Pierre, and together they shared the blessing of raising a family. Bob remarried to Virgina Flax in 1992 who preceeded him in death. He is survived by his children, Louis (Cathy) Martina, David (Julie) Martina, Lisa Martina, and Robert "Tony" (Amy Bay) Martina.
He was the proud grandfather of Jerry Martina, Andrew Martina, Ben Martina, Jamie Martina, Katie Potts, Joseph Martina, Emily Terry, Rebecca Logan, Evan Addison, Sam Martina, and Simon Martina, and was blessed with seven great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride.
Bob found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed making wine and sharing it with family and friends, creating fellowship and lasting memories around every bottle. In his younger years, he loved sailing on Lake Erie and the Ohio River, embracing the adventure and peace of being on the water. He was gifted with his hands and took great pride in restoring houses, breathing new life into old homes through craftsmanship and determination.
Above all, his greatest passion was serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life and guided his actions, relationships, and service to others. Those who knew him saw his Christian values reflected in the way he lived and cared for those around him.
People especially loved Bob for his witty sense of humor and his willingness to jump in and help wherever he could. Whether a family member, friend, neighbor, or stranger needed assistance, Bob was always ready to lend a hand. His generosity, quick wit, and caring nature made him a beloved presence in the lives of many.
A lifelong resident of the Cincinnati area, Bob will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to family and faith. He leaves behind a legacy of love, perseverance, service, and integrity that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
