Ronald H. Kissinger

June 30, 1939 — July 6, 2025

Ronald H. Kissinger, of Deer Park, OH, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 86.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Nancy Kissinger (nee Ball); his children Kimberly Jump (Gary), Curt Kissinger (Karen) and Lisa Gregory; and his cherished grandchildren Madeleine, Amelia, Evan, Ryan, and Lucy. Ron is also survived by his twin brother, Donald Kissinger, and sister, Carol Hardin.

A lifelong public servant, Ron began his career with the Cincinnati Police Department in 1961 as a member of its 39th Recruit Class. While he served in various front line and administrative roles, the majority of his distinguished 31-year career was as a patrol officer and investigator in what is currently known as District 2. Ron was promoted to Sergeant in 1982, and throughout his service, he was honored with 64 letters of appreciation and commendation. Ron also volunteered as a member of the Hamilton County Police Association's Dive Team.

Following his retirement from the police department, Ron continued his commitment to public service as a Criminal Bailiff in the Hamilton County Court system, working for the Clerk of Courts for another 15 years.

While Ron had many hobbies, ice hockey was his passion. For five decades as a player, official, and coach, the Cincinnati Gardens was a second home. After hanging up his skates at age 60, Ron rekindled his teenage enthusiasm for horses. Daily drives with Nancy to Sandy Run Stables in Hebron, KY, to care for his Tennessee Walkers, April and Hank, gave both horse and owner mutual enjoyment. Ron also gave back to the equestrian community by volunteering with the Northern Kentucky Horse Network.

A public visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM with a memorial service following at 1:00 PM, at Crossroads Church Oakley, 3500 Madison Road, Cincinnati (East Entrance).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greater Cincinnati Police Museum and Historical Society (memorial@police-museum.org or link HERE), or the charity of your choice.
