Rosie Gertrude "Gert" Goines

Rosie Gertrude "Gert" Goines, age 90 of Union Twp., passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025 at Otterbein Gahanna Senior Life. She was born January 22, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles and Flossie Rice Gaskins.

She was the beloved wife of 68 years to the late Benny A. Goines, devoted mother of the late Javon Fagin, loving grandmother of Erin (Derik) Diaz and Ryan Fagin, adored great-grandmother of Dominik Patrick, Kynndel Fagin, and Sammi Sansone, cherished sister of the late Norman, Allan, and James Gaskins, and dear step-sister of the late Betty Alberts, and Harry and Orie Gaskins. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Gaskins and many nieces and nephews.

Gert was the quintessential caretaker in her home. Caring for her daughter and her grandchildren was her life. She was a huge sports fanatic and loved her Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Gert was a champion at Monopoly and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family. She will be remembered as being an extremely dedicated and hardworking woman who was stubborn as a mule.

Funeral service will be held at T.P. White & Sons Funeral Home, 2050 Beechmont Avenue, Mt. Washington, on Thursday, April 17th at 12 pm where family and friends may visit from 11 am until time of service. If desired, memorials may be directed to Shriners Children's or your favorite Veterans Charity.
