Scott L. Dimmerman, age 58, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on September 28, 2026.

Born on May 23, 1968, Scott was the son of the late Louis Dimmerman. He is survived by his loving mother, Mavis Briede, his stepfather, James Briede, his sister Sheri Dimmerman, his aunts and uncles, Kathleen and Tony Huelefeld, Sheila and Jerry Bartone, John and Michele Mederer, many cherished cousins, his devoted partner of 22 years Michelle Neabrey, Chris Neabrey, whom Scott loved as a son, and the many members of Michelle's family who became his own.

Scott proudly served his country in the United States Army. During his military service, he was stationed in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, where he served as a crew member on the Pershing missile system. He later served as a Patriot missile crew member to the nation's defense during a pivotal period in military history of Operation Desert Storm Southern Watch in Saudi Arabia. Scott took great pride in his service and the lifelong experiences and friendships it provided.

Following his military service, Scott dedicated himself to serving his community as a school bus driver, most recently for the Forest Hills School District. He took pride in his work and was known for his kindness and dedication to the students and families he served.

Scott had a passion for imagination, storytelling, and lifelong learning. He loved tabletop roleplaying games and was an enthusiastic player of Magic: The Gathering. Through years of adventures shared around gaming tables, Scott built a community of lifelong friendships. He especially treasured the camaraderie and friendship of his longtime gaming companions, Joe Dermody, Andy Brath, and Buddy Hargis, with whom he shared countless campaigns, stories, laughter, and memories. An avid reader, Scott could often be found immersed in a good book, always eager to discover a new story or explore a new idea.

Above all, Scott treasured the people in his life. He was a loyal friend, a caring partner, and a proud son and brother. He shared a special bond with Michelle and embraced her family as his own. He loved Chris Neabrey as a son and was proud to be a steady father figure in his life. Michelle's grandchildren held a particularly special place in his heart, affectionately nicknaming him the "Tickle Monster," a testament to the joy, laughter, and love he brought to their lives. He delighted in spending time with them, sharing stories, laughter, and encouragement.

Scott was loved by many and will be remembered for his generous spirit, quiet strength, sense of humor, and unwavering devotion to those he cared about. His presence enriched the lives of family, friends, coworkers, and fellow gamers alike. Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West 3rd Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.

The family finds comfort in knowing that Scott's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched and the enduring love he leaves behind.

"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
