Spencer Foote

Spencer Theron Foote, Jr., 93 of Cincinnati passed away peacefully May 15, 2025. Spencer was born June 27, 1931 in Norco, LA, the son of the late Spencer and Ruby Foote. After spending his youth and high school years in Westfield, NJ, he moved to Bethlehem, PA to attend Lehigh University, where he earned his engineering degree and met his beloved future wife, the late Geraldine Keating.

Spencer is survived by his children Larry Foote, David Foote, Matt Foote, and Elizabeth Demarchi, cherished grandchildren Spencer IV, Sean, Ryan, Lauren, Morgan, Molly, London, Xander and 6 great grandchildren, and his dear sister Margaret Foote. Preceding him in death were his late siblings Carol Brown, Stuart Foote, and first-born son Spencer Foote III.

Spencer served in the US Army as a young man during the Korean War, stationed in Korea and Japan. After marrying in 1955, he and Geraldine made roots in Wisconsin and welcomed Spencer III. Two decades and five children later, Spencer's engineering career took the family to Cincinnati in 1976. Throughout the years, Spencer's handy skills were made useful to many projects and improvements on the family homes, cars, makeshift playsets, and various climbing apparatuses throughout Wisconsin and Ohio. As an involved grandfather, he was known to take his grandkids to sledding hills, get down on the floor to play, and show them how to tend to the plants in his garden. In his leisure time, Spencer would be found on the golf course with friends and family alike, relentlessly chasing the mechanics of a perfect swing that he researched in countless publications. While he never quite exacted the perfect swing, Spencer's dry sense of humor was appreciated by his golf companions and many friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on what would have been his 94th birthday on Friday June 27th at TP White & Sons Funeral Home 2050 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230 - visitation at 11am, memorial service at 12pm. A private family burial is planned for Saturday June 28th, where Spencer will join Geraldine in eternal rest alongside Spencer III. As Spencer was a devoted Catholic and loyal servant to God, the family kindly requests donations in lieu of flowers to Catholic Relief Services, in memory of Spencer T. Foote, Jr.
