Stephanie Anne Quehl (née Corwin) was called to her heavenly home on April 3rd, 2026 at the age of 64. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home surrounded by family.
Stephanie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charles "Buddy" Quehl, her 3 sons: Charles (Katie), Ross (Claire), and Luke, and beloved grandchildren, Logan, Lily, and Scarlett.
Stephanie was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 22, 1962. She attended New Richmond High School and graduated in the class of 1980. She was inducted into the Lion Sports Hall of Fame in 1997 for her many achievements in basketball including surpassing 1000 career points. She won multiple athletic awards including being selected as Player of the Year for the Cincinnati region and was the first female athlete to receive the coveted John Frey Award for best all-around basketball player. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles "Buddy" Quehl, in 1982.
She attended the University of Cincinnati for nursing and practiced in adult and pediatric healthcare for 45 years. She developed an innovative cardiac-pulmonary rehabilitation program which restored many people to health, and became a regional template for cardiac rehabilitation. Later, she obtained her nurse practitioner degree and her practice would include cardiac care, gastroenterology, urgent care, and pain medicine.
Stephanie embodied the love and care for all God's creatures. She cared deeply for her pets, raised horses and other animals, and regularly volunteered in animal shelters. She was known to be the first one to pull over to rescue a turtle trying to make it across the road.
Stephanie was a remarkable mother whose patience, strength and endless love left a lasting impression on her sons: Charles, Ross, and Luke. She considered her daughters-in-law, Claire and Katie, as her own. One of her greatest joys was being grandmother "MoMo" to Logan, Lily, and Scarlett. Stephanie instilled a love of nature, art, reading, and cooking in her grandchildren and these memories with her will be forever cherished.
Stephanie lived her life as a devout Catholic whose faith guided her words, her actions, and the way she loved others. She was a beloved daughter, mother, aunt, and sister and was a fierce advocate for her family and friends. She will always be loved, and she will always be missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday April 10th, 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (2501 Riverside Dr. Cincinnati, OH 45202).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, in Stephanie's memory, to the the Do It for Jack Foundation
