Cincinnati, OH - With deep sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of Sue M. Oaks on June 3, 2026. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Sue left this world surrounded by love and cherished memories.
Born on January 16, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Charlie and Virginia Young, Sue's life was a testament to love, grace, and selflessness. She was a devoted sister to Nancy Estep and Tom Young, and a cherished aunt to their families. A proud graduate of Regina High School in the class of 1959, Sue carried her educational journey forward with a lifelong love for learning and community involvement.
In 1963, Sue married her High School sweetheart, Gerry Oaks, in a beautiful ceremony in Cincinnati. Together, they walked hand in hand through 63 years of marriage, building a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unwavering devotion. Sue was blessed with three wonderful children and their spouses: Ken (Mandy), Karen (Mark), and Jeff (Kelly), along with her nine grandchildren-Morgan, Luke, Kennedy, Sydney, Ashley, Ryan, Drew, Luke, and Leah-each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Sue was an active member of Guardian Angels and McNicholas High School, where she dedicated her time and energy to fostering community and compassion. Her love for games, including Dominoes, Bridge, Mahjong, Cribbage and Golf, was only surpassed by her love for organizing vacations and gatherings, where her home was always filled with the warmth of family and friends. Sue's radiant smile and generous heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Sue and Gerry enjoyed traveling, particularly to Hilton Head. Her zest for life was infectious, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held on June 12, 2026, at Guardian Angels Parish, located at 6531 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230. Friends may visit from 10-11AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:00AM. Private family burial.
In lieu of flowers, please donated to Guardian Angel School and McNicholas High School.
