September 5, 1932 — August 21, 2025

William Stewart Davis Jr. (Bill), 92, went to be with our Lord on August 21, 2025. He was born on September 5, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to William and Alma Davis. Bill attended Withrow High School, where he met the love of his life, Peggy, whom he married in 1952. They shared a beautiful and devoted marriage that lasted 72 years.

Bill attended the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated in 1955 with a Business Administration degree. He had a very successful business career encompassing the areas of accounting, information technology and human resources. He was President of the Data Processing Management Association, and a recognized expert in Disaster Recovery Planning. His career took him to Gary, Indiana, Homewood, Illinois, Libertyville, Illinois; and eventually back to Cincinnati for the last 55 years.

He is survived by his loving children Betsy (the late Tom) Butler, Bill (Jill) Davis, and Cindy (Jim) Eldred. He was loved very much by his 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Elaine Davis, brother-in-law Rick (Kathy) Bourn, as well as many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Peggy, his parents, in-laws, son-in-law, and brother.

Bill was a tireless volunteer at Mercy Hospital (Anderson), being recognized for serving over 10,000 hours. He also started, taught and led computer education classes for the Anderson Senior Center, helping countless seniors learn the basics of the world of technology. For his dedication to the Senior Center, he was inducted into the City of Cincinnati Senior Citizen Hall of Fame (2002) and recognized by the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce for Outstanding Citizenship (2008). He also volunteered at Thomas More College with their Co-Op Education Program, as well as serving on their Advisory Board. Bill loved his garden, keeping meticulous records of every year's crop and how to best keep critters away. He loved to read, especially the novels of Clive Cussler and Tom Clancy. He loved country music, especially the music of Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. He loved Arby's and Red Lobster. He especially loved Cincinnati.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the friends and caregivers at The Barrington of Oakley, where Bill and Peggy have resided for the past eight years. Their kindness and care made a lasting difference in their lives.
