William Howard Stanley passed away February 26, 2026.
Bill was born on February 27, 1934 in Flushing, New York to the late Walter and Casimire Stanley. Bill was beloved husband of the late Judith Ellen Stanley (née Myers), devoted father of William (Tammie) Stanley, Elizabeth (the late Chris) Blatz, Joseph (Cathy) Stanley, and Carissa (the late Jeffrey) Luther, dear brother of Therese (the late Ferdinand Otto) Dorrer, and the late Ed (Sue) Stanley, loving grandfather of Lily, Phoebe (Shane), Carissa (Orlando), Emily (Matt), Tone, David (Kelsey), Sarah (Ethan), Jacqueline (Ali), Daniel (Karime), and Maggie (Josh). Bill adored his great grandchildren Lovelynn, Jude, Mia, León, Leidan and Milo.
Bill joined the United States Air Force in 1953 and served until 1957. He was stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He went swimming at the Troy pool where he met Judie. They married on July 13, 1957. They relocated to Cincinnati to raise their family.
Bill began his career at the General Motors Norwood plant in 1964. He was an engineer and created many designs to improve production. He retired as the senior engineer of environmental control in 1991.
He had many hobbies. He was a member of the toy train association. He helped Judie with her antique business and enjoyed working in the yard. Bill enjoyed family dinners and always ensured we had too many desserts.
Bill was a devout Catholic and enjoyed the camaraderie of the Father's Club.
He will be laid to rest on Thursday March 5, 2026 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (7820 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati Ohio 45255. Visitation is at 9:30 am. Mass to follow at 10:30 am. After the graveside service we will return to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for lunch.
In lieu of flowers, we request donations to St. Vincent de Paul and SEM food pantry.
