Obituary for Christa S. Blatz (Higgins)

Blatz, Christa S. (nee Higgins) beloved wife of David Blatz, dear daughter of Richard (Crystal) Higgins, Hallie Higgins, and the late Delores Higgins, devoted sister of Jeff (Shelly) and the late Tim Higgins, also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mar. 13, 2017. Age 57 years. Residence Union Twp. Memorial Service at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 1950 Nagel Rd. Anderson Twp. on Sat. Mar. 18, at 11 AM. Friends may visit at the Church on Sat. from 10-11 AM. Memorials to the Freestore Foodbank, c/o Curt Reiber 1141 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45202. Like every one of us Christa had some serious short comings. Like every one of us we are not going to cover those in our remembrances. But that is what Christa was like, she remembered the good in others, her heart was large. Whether it was her husband, or the people of need she served meals to, or to her family who she gave the most thoughtful of cards and gifts, Christa could teach us all something about not waiting until someone is gone to point out their best, to show them love. Maybe that is why her name was taken from the name of our Savior. Christa has gone to her heavenly family to be with her Mother and Brother not because she was flawless but because she was given the reprieve from our shortcomings that is grace. We could all learn from this lesson that the Bible teaches and that Christa, true to her name, demonstrated. God bless her, we long to see you again.
