TP White & Sons Funeral Home

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Cleve Gorman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Great to work for

I reported to Cleve for several years while he was the VP of Re-engineering. What I always loved about him, was that he was not afraid to make a decision and take action. Sometimes the decisions came fast, but I loved that he wanted to do something, versus nothing. We were working on an activity based costing project with a consulting group, and I remember their bills were coming in fast and furious. Cleve told me I could sign-off on the bills, and I remember looking at the bills, then at him, and saying "I don't want my name on these". He laughed and signed them. During that project, we were walking stores in Dallas, probably around 1993 or 94, and I was showing him how you were taught in the stores to play the "retail known gain," game. He was absolutely blown away by this and the behavior that retail accounting had driven across the company. He dug into the problem over the next year, and ultimately drove the change in the company away from retail accounting. I have great memories of Cleve, and know that he had a large impact on my learning's at Kroger. All the best to his family!
