Dr. Merle A.  Niederhofer
Dr. Merle Arthur Niederhofer, DDS, passed away at the age of 98 in his hometown Cincinnati,Ohio on Saturday, December 23, 2017. He was born November 30, 1919 in Cincinnati to Edwin and Margaret Niederhofer. In 1948 Merle married Louise Harris; she preceded him in death in 1970. He married Lois Ann Weeks Hubbell in 1971, enjoying 46 years of marriage before shepassed away on February 27, 2017. Merle was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving as a dentist. After the war, he spent his career serving his community as a dentist. Survivors include daughter Sue Earl; step-daughter Leesa Hubbell; step-sons Byron Burroughs, William Hubbell, and Tim Hubbell; 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. For many years, Merle volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Merle was a lover of art, traveling, music, grammar, and scuba diving. Merles ashes, along with those of his wife Lois, will be spread in a private memorial service at the place they loved most- their lake house in Michigan.
