Obituary for Josephine Modica

Josephine Modica (nee Minissa), Age 100 years (10-20-1917) of Bethel, Ohio passed from this life on March 28, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Harry Modica. Beloved Mother of Dolores (the late Andrew) Morgan, the late Joanne (James) Calabria, and Marilyn Crocetti Skinner. Daughter of the late Joseph and Benita Minissa of Philadelphia, PA. Sister of Albert (Ida) Minissa, the late Sylvia Bucciarelli, and Norma Di Francesco, and cousin of Jean Sciasci. She lost 2 brothers Albert and Joseph very early in their lives. She leaves 10 grandchildren: Deborah Morgan Thompson, James Calabria, Andrew Morgan, Joseph Crocetti, David Calabria, Nina McNichol, Todd Morgan, Glen Calabria, Amy Crocetti Young and Michael Crocetti ; 18 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Josephine was born and raised in South Philadelphia and later resided with her family in Havertown and Broomall, Pa. She worked as a pattern maker and designer for womans clothing. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 9 to 10 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Piux X Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, Pa. 19008 on Tues. at 10 AM. Memorial contributions may be sent to Saint Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105
