Obituary for Sharon A. Schafer

Schafer, Sharon of Cincinnati was welcomed into Heaven Wed. Jan. 9, 2013. Sharon Ann Schafer was born Mar. 23, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mark and Esther Johnston. She was united in marriage to Gerald Schafer on June 12, 1954. She was a nurturing and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For many years, she worked as a nurse at University Hospital. She had a servant's heart and volunteered as a chaplain at Christ Hospital, where she was awarded chaplain of the year. Sharon had an unwavering, childlike faith in God and lived to share the love of Jesus with others. She is survived by Gerald Schafer, her husband of 58 years; her children and spouses, Michael (Susie) Schafer of Irvine, CA, Lisa (Steve) Correll of Cinti. and John (Barb) Schafer of Mission Viejo, CA and grandchildren Kyle (Rachel), Mark, Sarah (John and great-grandson Calvin), Rachael (Tyron), Hannah, Gabriel, Mary, Caleb, Jesse, Joshua, Ezekiel, Lauren, Abby, and Grace; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Johnston. Visitation at T P WHITE & SONS Funeral 2050 Beechmont Ave. Mt. Washington on Sat. Jan. 19, from 1:30-2:30 PM. A celebration of Sharon's life will follow at the New England Club 8135 Beechmont Ave. Anderson Twp. on Sat. at 3:30 PM with a reception to follow the memorial service with a private burial. Memorials to Fruitful Vine Ministries or Cincinnati Children's Medical Center-Child Life Department: Hematology and Oncology.
