Obituary for Thomas J. Armstrong

Thomas James Armstrong, age 58 formerly of Madeira, Ohio quietly passed away in his sleep on December 8, 2017. May he rest in peace. He was preceded by his father Chester E. Armstrong Jr., mother Betty Lee Armstrong (nee Privet) and grandparents Chester E. Armstrong Sr., Bertha Armstrong (nee Eble), Daniel Wright and Ruth Wright (nee West). Tom is survived his brother Daniel F. Armstrong (Candis) and his niece Abbigail C Armstrong of Austin, Texas. Tom was born on August 24, 1959 and grew up in Madeira, Ohio. He graduated from Madeira High School in 1978, where he played sports and enjoyed hanging out with his friends. He was employed for a while at Metcut Research with his father and owned Armstrong's Asphalt Sealing Company. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains, collecting baseball cards and listening to long play albums. He loved camping, fishing, golfing and spending time with his niece, Abbigail. Our beloved Tom will be missed by all of the branches of his family: Armstrong, Jacob, Ernsting and Payne. Funeral service will be held at the Madeira- Silverwood Presbyterian Church 8000 Miami Avenue on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11am with Rev. Thomas Sweets officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10 to 11am in the church's chapel. The family would like to express their thanks for all of the wonderful comfort and care provided by those at Scarlet Oaks Retirement Community and Midwest Hospice.
